Finger Lakes Musical Theater Festival 2012: This year Auburn, New York is the site for the largest musical theater festival in the country! The Merry-Go-Round Playhouse has been producing high quality theater for decades and this summer they are expanding!

The popular “Kiss Me, Kate” opened on May 30 and is running until today. I had the pleasure of seeing this play last night and LOVED it! Between the orchestra, the incredible vocals and the engaging choreography, the energy in the theater was palpable! I have seen several Broadway shows and the talent in this show not only compared, but also matched the entertainment level of on Broadway hits. I will definitely be attending another show!

Nine other shows will be opening in the following months at the festival’s three locations.  The Mary-Go-Round Playhouse will host Broadway hits while the other locations (The Auburn Public Theater, and the Carriage House) will feature contemporary off Broadway productions and brand new shows that may be on Broadway someday.
