Winemaker Notes:
- To maintain the aromatics and freshness, this vintage underwent a slightly shortened fermentation process. Native yeast played a key role in fermenting the wine, capturing the essence of the Finger Lakes region.
- This wine was immediately pressed to capture a wealth of delicate aromatics, which were preserved by a cold-induced halt to fermentation.
- It is a single vineyard wine from the young Pinot Noir plantings at Lake Road Vineyards, contributing added fruitiness.
- The wine was aged on its lees for six months to enhance texture and body, adding depth to the final product.
Vintage Notes:
Rosé wine symbolizes fresh starts. The grapes used for making rosé are typically the first to be harvested, pressed, and bottled during each vintage. Looking at 2024, it was characterized by overall warmth and dryness. Spring arrived early, and despite concerns about frost, there was no significant damage, unlike in 2023. Aside from a bit of rain at the end of September, the fall remained quite dry, allowing fruit to be harvested efficiently as it reached ripeness. The red wines from this year are exceptional, exhibiting an unusual density and concentration for the region.
