First flush of fruit as given away to notes of maturity and complexity. This wine as gained much in the way of body with its tannins much lighters with flavors of earth and leather. Fruits are now dried less overt in sweetness and give a great feeling of depth.

Wine Profile
• 90 points & Gold Medal: World Wine Championships: "Exceptional. Ruby color. Bright aromas of plum, raspberry, peppercorns, and aged cheese with a soft, medium body and a smooth, interesting, medium length, cherry, plum, plum tomato, and vanilla finish with soft tannins and moderate oak. [tasting on 8/5/14] • 87 Rating: Robert Parker "The 2012 Meritage "Treleaven" was aged for 17 months in a mixture of new and second use French (45%), Hungarian (33%) and American (22%) oak. It is a blend of 61% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Cabernet Franc, with 9% Merlot. Far more interesting than the winery's Pinot Noir effort reviewed this issue, this is not overly concentrated or structured, but it does have good fruit on the finish laced with some oak nuances. It has a fairly bright and somewhat velvety feel. There's not a lot of stuffing underneath, but it's typical, tasty and lively. Drink it on the younger side and it should drink well. It will not reward long cellaring, however long it theoretically lasts. There were 533 cases produced." [tasted on 3/2016]
